Sofola and Associates is currently working with the Denver International Airport’s Infrastructure Management Team, providing project management and professional support in executing their Capital Improvement Plan. SA provides a team of professionals consisting of Project Managers, Contract Administrators, Planners, Engineers, Architects and topic specialists as needed. We function as owner’s representatives, integrated within the DIA management team, and manage a variety of assignments including Airside, Landside, Facility and MEP Infrastructure projects.

Our team supporting the airport offers a complete range of qualifications & experience and participates in a range of programs. These programs focus on improving the airport experience to major capital work including expansion, new terminals and transportation infrastructure.
1. Concourse A Escalators
Project description – This project covers the replacement of 8 Concourse A Center Core Escalators with 16 new units. The project replaces units that are outdated, where replacement parts are no longer manufactured, and addresses the expected increase in usage for the next 20+ years. Our role includes providing project management and contract administration support, and coordination of all work with internal and external stakeholders including design consultants, contractors, vendors, and Denver International Airport Operations.
2. Parking Revenue System
Project Description – This project includes the replacement of all operational equipment associated with a Parking Revenue Control System. This includes ticketing machines, credit card processing equipment, license plate reading cameras, gate arms, ground loop detection equipment, automatic vehicle identification equipment and their related control software. Our role includes providing project management and contract administration support, and coordination of all work with internal and external stakeholders including design consultants, contractors, vendors, and Denver International Airport Operations.
3. Runway 16R
Project description – The project includes replacing deteriorated concrete paving slabs and upgrading airfield lighting and electrical systems within the Runway 16R-34L complex. Our role included coordination of all work with internal and external stakeholders including design consultants, contractors, airlines, FAA, and Denver International Airport Operations.
4. Passenger Loading Bridge Replacement
Project description – In addressing the aging Passenger Loading Bridges (PLB’s) and to decrease escalating maintenance cost, PLB’s that have reached or exceeded their useful life are being replaced. Our role included coordination all work with internal and external stakeholders including design consultants, contractors, vendors, airlines, and Denver International Airport Operations.
5. Parking Garage Repairs
Project Description – This project covers annual repairs, maintenance, and preservation of eight parking structures, main terminal roadways, terminal roadway bridges, and associated infrastructure. Work includes repairs to expansion joints, cracks and spall repairs, architectural coatings, and general maintenance. Our includes coordination of all work with internal and external stakeholders including design consultants, contractors, and Denver International Airport Operations.
